Welcome to Max Morel!

We are pleased to announce that Max Morel has joined NADEL as a Senior Lecturer, focusing on humanitarian aid and media for global sustainable development.

Max Morel has joined NADEL as a Senior Lecturer and will teach and design courses for our MAS and CAS programmes. "I am really excited to join the outstanding NADEL team, to teach and to continue to learn", says Max. "In order to foster positive change in the rich and challenging places where we work, I’ve found that we must constantly wrestle with contradictions: to be humble and ambitious, curious and skeptical, rigorous and flexible, and I hope to bring these complexities into the classroom in an engaging and fun way.”

Max was Director of Operations/COO for the Swiss journalism and media NGO Fondation Hirondelle from 2018 to 2022. During his tenure, Fondation Hirondelle doubled its program volume by supporting outstanding media organizations as well as providing humanitarian responses to the Covid pandemic and the war in Ukraine. Previously, Max held several positions for Médecins du Monde (Doctors of the World), most recently as Executive Director in Switzerland. His formative professional experiences were with Médecins sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders) in Asia and Africa. Max holds a Master’s degree in Political Science from the IEP in Paris, and a Bachelors in International Affairs and Religious Studies from the University of Colorado.

Outside of work, Max is highly competitive in neighborhood tennis, writes musical theatre about the worst inventor of all time, sings in a family rock band, and runs to balance his mind and counter eating whatever he wants. He also makes Jedi paraphernalia out of stuff he finds lying around.
