Welcome to Arnaud Schuele!
The ETH Development Economics Group (DEC) recently welcomed Arnaud Schuele as a PhD student.
Arnaud Schuele joined the ETH Development Economics Group in August 2023. His research focuses on impact investing and impact entrepreneurship in lower-income countries, reflecting the growing recognition of the need for private capital to address pressing social issues.
"By supporting entrepreneurial solutions that aim to benefit underprivileged individuals, impact investing holds the potential to enhance the inclusivity, self-sustainability, and resilience of local economic systems”, says Arnaud. “This is why studying the social impact of impact investing is both challenging and tremendously exciting."
Alongside his doctoral studies, Arnaud works part-time at the external page elea Foundation for Ethics in Globalization (elea), where he recently graduated from the two-year elea Talent Program. At elea, he contributes to identifying and actively supporting impact ventures that contribute to fighting absolute poverty with entrepreneurial means.
Previously, Arnaud worked with Terre des Hommes Suisse, BlueOrchard Finance Ltd., and the Oxford Poverty and Human Development Initiative (OPHI).
In his free time, he enjoys mountaineering, scuba diving, and playing chess.
