Rice, fashion and net zero in Zurich

In the latest episode of our podcast “1.90 pro Tag”, NADEL alumna Stefanie Kägi explains how eating rice could endanger the climate.

Stefanie Kägi, NADEL alumna 2014

Stefanie Kägi, NADEL alumna (2014) and expert on sustainable agriculture and value chains, knows how to grow rice in a more environmentally friendly way. With Helvetas, she has advised 60,000 rice farmers in six countries and brought together key players for better water management.

Today, Stefanie is a climate protection officer at the City of Zurich. In the conversation with Fritz Brugger, she explains how eating rice could endanger the climate, how she wants to convince the people of Zurich to adopt an environmentally friendly lifestyle, what advantages organic cotton has for farmers and why they still can't earn a living on it.
